For the door
A tap, a green light, done. Faster than squinting at a hologram, harder to fool than a glance — the credential is cryptographically signed by its issuer.
How Laurel Secure works: a patron presents a mobile ID from their phone's wallet. The reader device asks the credential a single question — is this person over 21 — and reads nothing else. Name, birth date, photo, and document number stay on the phone. Only the result crosses to the platform: pass, fail, or unable to verify.
01 — THE SHORT VERSION
ID scanners work by reading the whole license — and most keep what they read. That turns a bouncer's glance into a database of names, birthdates, and addresses you now have to protect. Laurel Secure removes the choice: the reader asks the patron's mobile ID for one fact, gets one answer, and there is nothing else to keep.
A tap, a green light, done. Faster than squinting at a hologram, harder to fool than a glance — the credential is cryptographically signed by its issuer.
Live fleet health and aggregate verification counts across every location — proof your doors are checking, without a log of who walked through them.
No patron identity data means no patron identity breach. Not because we promise to be careful — because the data was never received in the first place.
1
Attribute the reader requests: over 21, true or false
3
Possible answers: pass, fail, or unable to verify
0
Patron identity fields stored — no column exists for them
k=3
Minimum bucket size before a day-level report will render
02 — WHERE IT RUNS
The same reader, portal, and three-answer vocabulary work anywhere age is the question and identity shouldn't be the cost.
Hospitality
Keep the line moving on a Friday night without building a scan log of your regulars.
Events
High-throughput gates for 18+ and 21+ shows, with per-gate fleet visibility.
Retail
A consistent checkout-lane check, and countable evidence of diligence across stores.
Regulated retail
Strict age rules meet customers who care deeply about not being on a list. Both win.
Retail
Verify age for customers who would rather walk out than hand over an ID to be scanned.
Commerce
Age-gated handoff at the car window or counter — same tap, same three answers.
03 — WHY YOU CAN TRUST IT
Most vendors promise not to keep identity data. Our database has no place to put it: no patron table, no name column, no per-person verification records. The strongest privacy policy is a schema that can't disobey it.
04 — STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Your staff checks their physical ID by hand, the same way they do today. Laurel Secure handles patrons who carry mobile IDs; your existing door procedure remains the fallback, and the system records nothing about those manual checks.
The check itself doesn't need us. Verification happens locally between the phone and the reader, so the door keeps working. Results queue on the device and sync to your dashboard when connectivity returns.
A mobile ID is cryptographically signed by the state or authority that issued it. A forged or tampered credential fails that signature check — it can't produce a pass. That's a stronger test than any human inspection of a plastic card.
